BEHIND THE LENS

 

I have been shooting for more than 20 years, my favourite type of photography is portraiture. I enjoy the give and take from the personal connection you make with people when you shoot their portrait.

The chance to try and photograph

a subject the way you see them and give them something special from the instant in time.

 

Photography in school was enticing because of the instant gratification, the magic of seeing it appear in the chemicals in front of you. 

 

Though I made the leap to digital I went kicking and screaming. I believe that everyone calling themselves a photographer should try and shoot film and even try the process of developing images. It is a real eye opening experience that would allow them understand the work that goes into just a single image rather than take 100 and hope one turns out.
